Your trip routes will soon be able to take use of Google Maps’ recently introduced Immersive View, which may make it much simpler to comprehend your destination and how to go there. On Wednesday, Google introduced a brand new feature that it calls Immersive View for routes. The announcement took place during Google I/O 2023.

At the moment, Immersive perspective provides a three-dimensional perspective of a location and supplements it with other data, such as the current weather or traffic conditions, so that you can get a clearer picture of what’s going on there. (Think of it as something similar to Apple’s Flyover view, but with additional information.) You will be able to gain a bird’s-eye view of the landmarks and structures that you could encounter when going somewhere new if you incorporate the Immersive View into the process of route planning. This will help you envision them more clearly. Google even provides you with the opportunity to view simulated traffic conditions, allowing you to have a better understanding of what you may face when driving.

You might have to wait a long before you can give Immersive View for routes a try for yourself, despite the fact that it looks to be rather remarkable. Google has stated that the function will become available in the “coming months,” and it will first be made available in 15 locations. These cities include Amsterdam, Berlin, Dublin, Florence, Las Vegas, London, Los Angeles, Miami, New York City, Paris, San Francisco, San Jose, Seattle, Tokyo, and Venice. (The Verge)
